Orthoclase is a mineral rarely found attached to quartz crystal, which makes these specimens rare.  It is a form of feldspar.   It has a sort of chalky feel to it like plaster.  Helps overcome tragedy and can provide assistance in the alignment of the chakras, the subtle bodies and the meridians of the physical body.  Emits an energy of liveliness and pleasantness, stimulating tact, finesse, poise and refinement.  A "stone of cooperative effort".  It provides for contact with the ancient builders of Egypt and can be used to initiate insight into the ancient methods and associated wisdom.  The plate like form can be used to stimulate the higher psychic abilities and to encourage ones faith in the personal intuitive capabilities. 

It has been used in the alignment of the spinal structure and the teeth.*

Other descriptions were from the years of experience of my working with the crystals (I am beginning to think I am channeling part of this information from somewhere (I don't know how this works), as some of my thoughts and answers to your questions and to descriptions come to me in a very strong Latino accent.)  ??  hmmm

If you don't have Melody's books yet, they are very reasonably priced and DEFINITELY worth the investment!  They are all excellent books!  A must have for any library!  I refer to them almost daily.

The best way to learn about the crystals is to meditate and experience them for yourself, I think each person will get what they need from each crystal, depending on what that particular crystal needs to communicate to you at the time.  I think the descriptions should be used as a general guide to describe the configurations to lead you in a direction, not as a hard and fast rule.  This is my opinion, however.  Happy learning!    Genn    :)
