This is a heavy,
masculine wand (but not solemn). The hilt is
mahogany obsidian, the crystal is an elestial shard,
completely self healed and knife-like, but the crystal
is feminine. The round stones are some from a
collection of my Grandmothers (I called her Granny). Granny
and I rockhounded together some, she always marked all of the
stones she got, so all of the stones I inherited are in little zippie
bags with different names and places marked on them... "Great Lakes
Agate" or even "... ? from Palo Verde" (haha). She would
write down where it came from even if she didn't know what it was.
These were marked "Ocean Tiger Eye" . I have
looked in all of my books and on the 'net... and I can't find anything
on them. They look like googily frog eyes to me. They feel
like glass, but they aren't. they look more like a shell from underneath,
you cant tell that from this side, if you flip them over, they are completely
flat and have a spiral on the other side. Hence the "Ocean" part
of it. My assumption is they are some sort of shell. They don't
have a sheen like a tiger eye. The top is very glossy and glassy
though. They are COOL! I like the energy they put off. Of
course, you can't do it because they are a part of the wand now, but
they have a delightful feel when you put several in your palm and
click them together. I think you can still get that googily frog
energy when you rub them on this hilt. The mahogany obsidian of
this wand isn't smooth and polished like other obsidian needles I have,
it is more rough and raw. Among other things, according to Melody,
mahogany obsidian is thought to "bring strength in times of need". It
is a good grounding stone, generally speaking, but I usually think of
that as the dark, black obsidian. Iron minerals present in obsidian
(which is natural volcanic glass) is what gives mahogany obsidian it's
color, so imagine the qualities of a stone made of natural glass heavily
infused with iron minerals.
